Designed dropped object protection panels for trees and manifolds using dynamic impact simulation. Manifolds and trees need protection from inadvertently dropped objects. A typical object was modeled and collided with the DOP panel by assigning an impact energy.  The panel geometry was optimized to minimize weight while providing protection to the manifold or tree components.
